It’s time for a new hero! And many, many more skins…
New DPS – Shion
It’s that time again, Overwatch Season 3 is upon us. This time around we have a new damage hero in Shion, a pistol wielding mob boss of the Hashimoto clan as well as the new Hybrid map, Neon Junction and the accompanying Anima Strike event.
Her kit, which feels like a combination of both Cassidy and Reaper, introduces a new concept to Overwatch – rideable vehicles. The bike, which allows her to increase her movement speed for up to four seconds functions like a Just Cause vehicle with its ability to be thrown at the enemy for devastating explosions.
The ultimate is probably the most interesting part of the new kit though, with its similarity to Cloak and Dagger from Marvel Rivals. She gets three charges with the option to either spin in place or dash forward, releasing a series of blasts from her pistols that can easily wipe a well defended corridor.

Battlepass
The battle pass this season offers the traditional number of credits and mythic currency, but the skins do not follow a specific theme like last season.
Instead, we have a mixture of cyberpunk and summer festival skins with Hazard, Sombra, Winston and Freja receiving the latter while Junkrat, Lucio, Genji and Cassidy getting the former.
The two bonus skins belong to out titular hero Shion and the Vishkar boss herself, Domina.
Overall this season feels like another positive step in the right direction for a game that has now been gracing the hero-shooter genre for the last decade. Between impactful hero changes and the continuous introduction of fun, and interesting, new characters, the game is certainly seeing a renaissance of sorts.
